Meet Santa’s elves (also known as Strudel\, Ebelskiver and Bjorn the Angora goats)\, feed some homemade cookies to our animals and enjoy a cup of hot cocoa yourself!\nYoung children will enjoy Mrs Claus’ music corner where they can shake\, rattle and roll instruments from jingle bells to Mrs. Claus’ pie tins! Young and old alike can have fun at the bird treat ornament-making table and each family will receive a keepsake Henny Penny holiday ornament as well! \nCost: $50 per family which can be used that day in the farm store. If you have specific items you want us to reserve just send an email\, and if not\, you can browse and shop on the day. Can be used on everything from soaps to wool products to lamb cuts. \n You must pre-book a time slot for your family (up to 6 individuals on one ticket).  Visits to the farm are 45 min. and there are up to 6 families on the farm at once. We allow a 15 min buffer in between time slots so that the previous group may leave the driveway with ease. We ask you not to arrive early. This event is rain or shine. In the event of extreme weather\, a gift coupon will be issued.

Activities might include working with your individual sheep over the course of the week\, learning how to milk a goat\, experience how much fun ducks are and more. We’ll explore the natural habitats at Henny Penny and embrace all the bounty that Mother Nature has to offer. Children will also work on a craft project combining elements of the farm (branches\, wool\, plants and more) that they will bring home at the end of the week.  Children round out their day working on their daily personal farmer log where they will put in photos and descriptions from their day.  It will promote further interesting conversations and exploration after camp finishes. \nPlease note camp runs from August 15-19 9am-2pm each day. $325 members\, $375 non-members. SUMMARY:Teen Farmers Camp
DESCRIPTION:New for 2022!\nTeen Farmers (ages 13-16) will spend their days on the farm and in our fields a mile and a half down the road. At the home farm they will learn about the different animals and plants living here and how they play into the bigger farm picture including the 16 acres we graze with our herd of sheep and llamas.  They will probe deeper into what regenerative agriculture means and see the beautiful and varied animal habitats that grace our fields and farm.  Activities might include milking the dairy goat and handling animals at the home farm and then taking soil samples and learning about the different plants in our pastures.  We will spend down-time working on nature-inspired crafts and art/sketching throughout our week as well. The fields provide lots of visual inspiration for artists and by doing art the campers refine their observational skills as well. \nPlease note camp runs from July 25-29 9am-3pm each day. $375 for members\, $425 for non-members. The registration is for the whole week (not just one day). \nPlease also note that\, due to the nature of this camp\, children will be transported by car between the home farm and fields by an adult (either part of Henny Penny staff or Farmer Whitney). DESCRIPTION:Learning about chicks\nThis spring we will be offering our Young Explorer program again. It’s an experience similar to our summer camp programs but modified to meet the interests and pace of children age 3-5. Children will get to learn about our farm animals\, plants and wildlife on the farm in hands-on activities. They also will get to do craft activities using natural materials to connect with nature in other media.  This is a drop-off program and children must be potty-trained and of at least 3 years of age by the start date of the program. We will meet on Mondays and Fridays from 10-12:00 and classes are outdoors rain or shine however we have pop-up tents and other structures to keep us dry. \nSession dates are: May 13\, 16\, 20\, 23 and 27 \nNon-Members $225 \nMembers $200 \nPlease note the price is for all 5 sessions (not per session price)

SUMMARY:Junior Farmers Spring Break Camp April 11-15
DESCRIPTION:Junior Farmers (ages 5-8) will spend mornings on the farm\, learning about the different animals and plants living here. We’ll do morning ‘chores’ each day and then pick a particular animal (like a lamb\, goat\, chicken or rabbit) to learn more about and do an activity centered around. Activities might include working with an individual sheep over the course of the week\, learning how to milk a goat\, collecting eggs and experiencing how much fun ducks are and more. We’ll explore the natural habitats at Henny Penny and embrace all the bounty that Mother Nature has to offer. Children will also work on craft projects combining elements of the farm (branches\, wool and more) that they will bring home at the end of the week. They will also work on a daily farmers log which will combine pictures and words from their day of fun and learning. \nPlease note camp runs from April 11-15 9-12:30 each day. $325 Non-Member\, $275 Member. The registration is for the entire week (not just one day). \nPlease also note that while the registration fee is not refundable you may transfer it to another child (that fits in the age group selected) once you notify us of the change. \nAlong with our Shepherd and Supporter of the Farm Members enjoy an exclusive registration window to camps for 1 week before camps are released to the public. \nRegistration Open for Shepherd Members\, Supporter of the Farm Members Sunday January 23 6am\nRegistration Open for Public January 30 6am.

SUMMARY:Cowl Knit Along
DESCRIPTION:Cowls are so much fun to knit! You can knit them with the basic knit stitch and a beautiful yarn and they are a dream to wear. Or you can start experimenting with different stitches and colors and with such a small project you can get really creative and still have a finished product relatively quickly! We’re going to dig into the world of cowls by the warmth of the fire back in our barn teaching space. \nYarn will be provided for knitters from our farm yarns. Students will have a choice of yarn combinations (and recommendations based on knitting experience will be given).  And as typical for February\, our lambs will be bouncing around outside. We’ll visit them at the end of class. Come join us! \nWe have allowed 2 hours for this event for complete beginners to have adequate time to learn the basics. If you have never knit before don’t worry\, this is a great place and time to start! \n  \nDetails: Yarn materials are included in the price. The 1275 collection will be best for beginners or intermediate knitters (2 colors can be selected) and the Annabel/Bjornicorn line will be best for intermediate knitters (3 colors can be selected). SUMMARY:Flora Fingerless Mittens Knitalong
DESCRIPTION:After so many requests from our community\, we are excited to finally offer an On-Farm Knitalong! \nWe will be making Farmer Whitney’s Flora Fingerless Mittens. They are a fun\, beginner knit embellished with basic embroidery stitches. There are two versions of this pattern so that we can welcome both complete beginners as well as advanced knitters. \nThe Knitalong will take place over two sessions. During the first session students will get set up making their first fingerless mitten as well as learn and see some of the fibers that go into making our yarns. During the second sessions students will bring their completed first mitten and learn how to embellish them with embroidery\, properly sew together the side seam and how to finish their project. The timing of these two knitalongs also means that there will be ample lambs hopping around outside to visit after our session has finished.  \nAlong with the two sessions you will receive the two printed patterns\, one skein of our Thick n’ Thin Yarn and the Li’l Mending/Darning Kit in ‘Brights’. (Yarn\, mending kit and pattern value is $64.87 incl tax) \n \nPlease note: This event will be held in our lovingly restored barn. If you have specific items you want us to reserve just send an email\, and if not\, you can browse and shop on the day. Can be used on everything from soaps to wool products to lamb cuts. \n You must pre-book a time slot for your family (up to 6 individuals on one ticket).  Visits to the farm are 45 min. and there are up to 4 families on the farm at once. We allow a 15 min buffer in between time slots so that the previous group may leave the driveway with ease. We ask you not to arrive early. This event is rain or shine.
