It’s like a high school cafeteria here during evening feeds, now that the whole herd is home for lambing season. Everyone is hungry, hangry and loud. Everyone has their ‘group’. The yearling Romney show sheep eat separately from our pregnant brood ewes as they are on a different diet. Here’s a peak at the girls having dinner while the mamas-to-be keep coming in to complain about how long it is taking for their food to come!
Once the 4 ewes from the show flock are situated inside the barn we go outside to feed all of the pregnant Romney mamas. We’ve set up the troughs outside the paddock so they can be filled with grain without the sheep jumping on top of you. Then once the troughs are all ready the flaps are opened and the feeding frenzy begins!

It always reminds me of the childhood game Hungry Hungry Hippos!

Weaving Adventures

They sound so happy eating LOL and I can’t believe how civilized dinner time is… all in a row munching!
Then later at night if you go in the barn you hear nothing but th quiet munching of them chewing their cud.
